Residents receive exceptional medical care at local facilities. Southwest Healthcare System includes two acute care hospitals, Rancho Springs Medical Center and Inland Valley Regional Medical Center which service trauma surgery, intensive care, diagnostic imaging, rehabilitation and other medical care.
Recognizing the great need for a hospital in Temecula, the City Council approved plans in January 2006 for the Temecula Hospital and Medical Center on Hwy. 79 So., west of Margarita Road. Southwest Healthcare Systems will develop the new hospital.
The campus will feature a new acute care hospital, built with 172 beds to be increased to 320 beds. The hospital will offer a large emergency department, an intensive care unit, a cancer treatment center, and imaging and laboratory services. Two medical office buildings will house doctors’ offices, giving patients convenient access to physicians. Construction is to begin this year. The project will total 566,160 square feet on 35.31 acres. Construction is scheduled to begin in Spring 2009.
